PLANT NATURE:
It is a remarkable herb celebrated for its rapid physical movement and deep root. The most famous nature is its rapid sensitivity to touch, vibration or heat. When disturbed, changes in water pressure within its cell structure cause the bipinnate leaflets to fold instantly and droop. The plant reopens its leaves after several minutes when its pressure normalizes. Its stems are densely covered in sharp thorns for its protection.
SEASONS:
It thrives in warm, tropical and sub-tropical climates with plenty of direct sunlight. While it can grow year round in hot climates, its active growth and flowering season occur primarily during the rainy season and summer. It struggles to survive or drops its leaves in harsh frost or cold winter conditions. It produces distinctive, fluffy, ball like pink or pale purple flowers that typically bloom in the warmer months.
PLANT TYPE:
It belongs to the Fabacea, pea or legume family. It is a creeping, low growing perennial herb or sub herb. It features woody stems the branch outwards close to the ground growing anywhere from 6 inches to 3 feet in height. Due to its highly adaptive nature it spreads easily and is widely classified as a hardy weed that can be found in waste lands, open fields, lawns and roadsides.
TRADITIONAL VALUES:
Deemed to possess strong cooling energy. The leaves paste mixed with milk or curd taken to lower extreme body heat and relieve internal burning sensation. The leaf juice extract is applied topically to cuts, insect bites, ulcer and stubborn skin sores for rapid tissue repair and to stop bleeding. Highly regarded for bleeding piles. Used in remedies to address excessive or abnormal urinary bleeding and maintain gynecological balance in women.
STORAGE INSTRUCTION:
Store in an airtight jar, in a cool and dry place and away from direct sunlight.
